What is Climate change & Global warming?( Media & Population) - Fizah Mughees

Climate Change

Global warming & climate change refer to an increase in average global temperatures. Human activities & Natural events are believed to be contributing to an increase in average global temperatures. This is fount essentially by increases in greenhouse gases such as Carbon Dioxide (CO2). A warming planet so far leads to a change in climate which can affect weather in various ways. In some wedge of the world, there have been various weather events that at first thought would question global warming. Exemplar, Different regions have experienced freezing winters (sometimes record-breaking), while others have experienced heavy rain, etc. The clutter that sometimes arises is the difference between climate change and weather patterns. Seasons sample describe short term events, while climate change is a longer process that affects the weather. A comfy planet is actually consistent with increasing cold, increasing rain and other extremes, as an overall warmer planet changes weather patterns everywhere at all times of the year. Some  studies point of view that the rates of extinction of animal and plant species, and the temperature changes around the world since the industrial revolution, have been significantly different to normal expectations. An inspection of population trends, climate change, increasing pollution and emerging diseases found that 40 percent of deaths in the world could be attributed to environmental factors. Accompanying the sorrow of climate change and global warming is the media spin, propaganda, and special interests. Recently years in some countries, scientists and environmental groups raising concerns about climate change faced stern opposition, and at one time, ridicule. At the start, some big businesses and countries such as the United States were openly challenging concerns of climate change. Production unification & lobby groups have also been accused of misinforming the public or pressuring media into false balancing. In some years ago, many large businesses have distanced themselves from those previous positions and some have even openly accepted climate change and global warming concerns, even asking for governments to gather regulation and guidance on the matter. So far, even into the mid-2000s by which time climate change and global warming had finally been accepted as real by the most suspicious governments, some such as the US’s management were accused of silencing those who spoke out about the problem, including leading government climate scientists who warned of consequences of global warming.

The Us & Climate change:

Different countries, of which the US is the most influential and powerful, have been accused of being counter-productive during climate change negotiations. When  the Clinton Management signed and ratified the protocol, the Republican majority Congress, was opposed to this. Since 2007 Sector of the Union speech at the beginning of January that year, President Bush announced various strategies and investment plans for cleaner technology and reduce US greenhouse gas emissions. There some spin associated with the announcements? The World watch Institute and others criticized the proposed measures as being too little.

Media Reporting:

Further in the past, the mainstream media has generally been looking more and more at climate change, its effects, and what people are doing. The estimate & tactics employed by businesses and governments in the past may not be as successful in the future, potentially. This is a positive turn, or could there be other forms of spin and green washing? Climate change in the past, the mainstream media often failed to report on it, or placed it much lower in priority than other stories, with even celebrities getting more media coverage at times. Its not just media/propaganda issue, it is a time issue; the warnings from scientists since even the 1980s was that urgent action was needed. It is not mankind proving once again that we cannot come together and deal with issues, it is powerful interests proving a historical pattern.

Population & Climate change:

A “Thomas Robert ” point of view about the relationship between population growth and the environment suggests that as populations grow, they will strip their resources leading to famine, hunger and environmental degradation. Exemplar, the world’s wealthiest 20% consume approximately 80% of the world’s resources, while the rest of humanity shares the other 20% of resource consumed. In hold to climate change, countries with large populations such as China and India have not been the countries contributing greenhouse gases for the decades that has been required to trigger climate change. Anyway, some developing countries are pursuing the same path to development that the current industrialized countries have, which involved many environmentally damaging practices. Ironically most of the advise and encouragement to follow this path comes from the western economic schools of thought. Therefore, it is an urgent need to focus on cleaner technologies and an alternative path to a more sustainable form of development. Settlement and outflow are related to consumption, not just population numbers alone. When pollution is increasing in poorer countries as well, it is not solely due to rising populations, because, as the U.N. points out, and as mentioned earlier, 80% of the world’s resources are consumed by the world’s wealthiest 20%. Thus, even if pollution is occurring in poor countries, a large portion of it is to meet this consumer demand.
